The Edge Of Glory è il #3 singolo dell'album Born This Way di Lady Gaga, inizialmente pubblicato su iTunes e Youtube come un'anteprima promozionale poi come singolo ufficiale per via del grande successo riscosso raggiungendo il terzo posto della classifica Americana e il secondo in quella Italiana.
Il brano preferito di Lady Gaga,del suo album, è appunto questo, lo afferma lei stessa davanti ad un'intervista, perché ha lasciato spazio al sassofono della E Street Band Clarence Clemons che le ricorda il suo nonno ormai deceduto infatti la canzone parla "del tuo ultimo istante sulla terra, l'istante di verità, l'istante prima di lasciare la terra".
Rispetto agli altri brani più cupi di Born This Way, The Edge Of Glory, ha un ritmo più veloci, un misto di pop e musica jazz anni ottanta infatti i critici hanno dichiarato che questo è il brano più bello di tutto il suo album soprattuto il ritornello che ti rimane in mente; non dimentichiamoci che The Edge Of Glory è stato uno dei tanti tormentoni estivi del 2011.
Lady Gaga ci accompagna con il suo brano per ben 5 minuti, se non di più, senza mai farci stancare e dire "Basta ora cambiamo song". La song è ispirata da Rocky, come tutti ormai conoscete, film preferito della cantautrice infatti rappresenta la forza di andare avanti, di diventare un campione, anche quando si è tristi.
Il più piccolo dei fratello Jonas, Nick, ha cantato a suo modo The Edge Of Glory affermando che questa song ispirava il mondo; Lady Gaga ne era entusiasta.
Giudizio Finale
Questa song è una power ballad con alcuni club beats e la partecipazione della famoso sassofonista, Lady Gaga lo ritiene un elemento importante il sassofono però è un elemento quasi inutile e non risalta il brano come dovrebbe, devo dire che in se per se è orecchiabile e armoniosa.
The Edge Of Glory non è molto originale in quanto il videoclip è un misto fra un musical di broadway e billie jean di Michael Jackson tutto sommato la semplicità fa la sua parte infatti se ascoltiamo attentamente la song, essa utilizza quasi sempre le stesse parole o frasi senza cambiare. Bisogna soltanto digerire il video pessimo tra l'altro io non sono riuscito ad apprenderne il significato, LadyGaga è su una scala di metallo che sale e scende come una "baldracca", è questa la parola che ha usato un critico piuttosto famoso Peter Robinson. Detto con franchezza è una commercialata e basta come l'ultimo brano dei Coldplay, un brano forse troppo scontato e privo di significato come la title track. In fondo credo che a Lady Gaga non importino poi così tanto le critiche, lei continua la sua carriera scalando le classifiche come nulla fosse guadagnando denaro e premi.

Born This Way la fotocopia di Express Yourself di Madonna, Judas il plagio della sua stessa Bad Romance...se davvero volesse sperimentare qualcosa di nuovo, che inizi ad inserire chitarra,batteria e piano nelle sue canzoni...perché basta che mi procuro un mixer e la musica che fa lei la riproduco anche io...
